Beautifull Fools is an anthology of Poems by Ernest Khosa., a University of Manchester trained international development finance specialist and a former Chief Executive of two state institutions in South Africa. The title is borrowed from one of the poems. It is a poem that celebrates the physical beauty and the economic resourcefulness of the African continent, but also one that attacks African leaders and civil society for being the authors of Africa’s misfortunes.
The poetry book has several themes. The most distinct of which are a stinging attack on Africa’s governance status, a call for social and religious tolerance and love at both a galactic level and an individual level. The book is punctuated by a few limmericks which adds a satirical effect on the work and regularly keeps a reader in stitches.
The book was launched at a glittering function hosted by the national library of South Africa , with renowned academics , and various professionals in attendance. The Governor of South Africa ‘s most economically resourcefull province, David Makhura was the guest speaker.
