In 1991 she returned to South African and in Clarens met mentor, Martin Wessels. She started painting, sculpting and continued to write poetry prolifically. She has exhibited widely in South Africa, New Zealand and the Netherlands. ‘The turtle dove told me’ is Thandi’s first published book of poetry.
